Vintage Logos

Today I learned how to add grunge textures to vector objects to give them a 'grunge' and 'weathered' look. I was inspired by vintage logos with a tough edge. Here are some of my inspirational images, followed by my final 'Twin Peaks' logos. Enjoy!

Winter Divorce

I came across London designer, Gisele Ganne's amazing work on Boticca. Her intricate pieces are inspired by death, mourning, loss and divorce from the Victorian era, historical events, myths and mysteries. You may have seen some of her pieces displayed by the likes of Lady Gaga and Ke$ha.

Bespoke

I love any form of organic, raw metal jewelry, so it's no surprise that I'm swooning over Michelle Oh's amazing handcrafted bespoke pieces. She uses raw materials and recycled metals whenever possible, creating one of a kind pieces perfect for special occasions or simply unique statements. Here are some of my favorites. More here.

Tattoo Typography

Just to keep the creative wheels turning, I designed a logo set this morning for an imaginary record label, "Bolt Records". I've been inspired by tattoo fonts for awhile now, and wanted to incorporate them into a logo. The bolt idea came afterwards. Here are some of my inspiration photos, and the final designs afterwards! Dirt Nap

Today's inspiration - black and white photography by Cicero deGuzman Jr. of GODSPEED 45/06. Cicero's work documents everything chopper culture and beyond. His photos are currently inspiring a lot of my design work. I'm drawn to complex greyscale and industrial themes like the close-up detail of the bikes in his photos - the repetition, geometry, machinery, and the way that all of these elements come together to make something cohesive. A smooth ride, if you will.
