Oyster Magazine sent Guy Lowndes to Joshua Tree, California to shoot alongside Thomas Northcut for the festival-inspired Free People April Lookbook. The new savvy shoot follows four girls, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Hailey Clauson, Luisa Bianchi and Kate Harrison on their westward adventure. Feathers, denim, flowing dresses - I'm so ready for summer. The lookbook goes live in tandem with the new collection on April 3, 2012.

I'm obsessed with Australian jewelry designer Zoe Sernack's new collection 'Nomadic Sun.' Her pieces intricately combine the look of raw materials and tribal design, with a contemporary and artistic edge. The pieces stand alone as works of art and reflect her artistic ideal - "jewelry to dress around rather than an add on." Here are some of my favorites from the collection:
Kai Neville is a badass. Heralded as being one of the most progressive surf cinematographers of all time, the latest mysterious clip of his new film, 'What Youth,' will prove equally as epic. His sophomore attempt at film making, 'Lost Atlas,' was a huge success, and it looks like he has a promising future. Also doesn't hurt that he's handsome as hell either.

The name 'Charlotte Free' breathes the epitome of cool. It's no wonder native LA model Charlotte Free is popping up everywhere. Her signature pick locks scream free spirit, and I'm 100% diggin' her style. Here's her editorial feature from the March 2012 issue of Vogue France.

In Australia, it's BIG DAY OUT. In America, it's COACHELLA. These festivals have outgrown music, and evolved into a lifestyle. See below for fashion and style inspiration, courtesy of Planet Blue's collaboration with FOAM Mag. Get stoked.

Work hard, play hard. For me, the best part about living in California is that those moments of play are ceremoniously supplemented by sunshine, hikes, stoking swells and adventure. I couldn't ask for anything better. While scanning through my ritual Sunday zines at the beach, I came across a few of Ryan Heywood's photos in Cooler Magazine. His photos visually exemplified the youthful excitement and happiness that I feel when I look out over the Pacific. The rush of adrenaline that I feel in my first duck dive into the cold water. The way fried food smells so good in the warm salty air. The way the sun makes me smile when I greet it on a Saturday morning. Ryan captures those sparse moments of youthful bliss in his photos. I hope for a fleeting moment - if not longer - you will feel it too.
