Work hard, play hard. For me, the best part about living in California is that those moments of play are ceremoniously supplemented by sunshine, hikes, stoking swells and adventure. I couldn't ask for anything better. While scanning through my ritual Sunday zines at the beach, I came across a few of Ryan Heywood's photos in Cooler Magazine. His photos visually exemplified the youthful excitement and happiness that I feel when I look out over the Pacific. The rush of adrenaline that I feel in my first duck dive into the cold water. The way fried food smells so good in the warm salty air. The way the sun makes me smile when I greet it on a Saturday morning. Ryan captures those sparse moments of youthful bliss in his photos. I hope for a fleeting moment - if not longer - you will feel it too.
